I would like some ideas to expand on an idea?

i have decided to start a home based buisness.making gift baskets and such for baby showers, wedding showers, birthdays, mothers day ect. how do i go about getting the word out and advertise without buying a buisness liscens

Advertise for free on Craigslist.com. You can also advertise in your local paper. You don't need a business license for what you want to do. You can treat it as a hobby, but if you make a profit be sure you declare it on your tax return.

Another approach is to establish a web site where you can include pictures of sample gift baskets. Some homewoners associations may be interested in your products to use for welcoming new residents moving into the area. Also apartment house owners or managers. Approach the local ones with your ideas. These are good ways to build up goodwill with tenants and nieghbors. Best of luck.
