Avon reps?? I have just applied... help me?

Just wondering how successful you found it.. I applied on the website.... do they take anyone?? Im from Australia and have been reading some negative stuff about being an Avon sales person. Can anyone give me some pros and cons??

I've been selling avon for a year and am quite happy with it. They usually take everyone unless the person sold before and left an unpaid balance owed. Of course I don't know how it works in Australia but these are the commission percentages in the US

For your first campaign you will earn 50% commission when you place your order online. For your Second, Third, and Fourth campaigns, you will earn 50% commission provided your orders are greater than $50, and you place your orders online. After your first four campaigns, the commission structure is as follows:
Order Size Earnings
$1550 or more 50%
$900 - $1549 45%
$425 - $899 40%
$285 - $424 35%
$145 - $284 30%
$25 - $144 20%
$00 - $24 0%
Licensed products are earned at 20% commission.

Avon has quality products at affordable prices and something for everyone. If you like Avon don't listen to what other's say. Run your business, like a business and you should do fine. Don't waste money stocking up inventory, its not required and not a wise idea. The only thing you need to sell avon is the brochures. You do have to purchase them each campaign though. The more you buy the less they cost :)

I used to do this and I got out mainly because I had young children and it was time consuming for how I wanted to do it. I would go door to door, show off some products that I prepurchased, show them highlighted pages and toss in some free samples of some make-up or perfumes. If they weren't at home I would leave the bag of goodies on the door. I would also leave the catalogs at cornor stores, laundry mats, and doctors waiting rooms. I did get a nice cliental developing. There are meetings that you attend that helps you develop your sales ability. It really was a fun experience. I don't have a negative thing about Avon except that personally it was getting hard with young children and going door to door. But once you had a good cliental it wasn't that bad.

I use to sell Avon, but didn't make any money on it, because you only get between 25-35% profit off your sales.
Have you ever thought about becoming a Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay? I've been for some time and you really can make money at it. You make 50% of your sales in profit, and you can sign up for one of their websites which allows customers to shop from you 24/7. You definately get out of it the amount of time you put in it. You can set your own hours - and I love it. Please let me know if you I can answer any questions you may have. If you interested in learning more, I can forward you the link.
