Do you think its time for the usa to product its own products now?

Well, yes. I (an American) am trying to do just that. The only thing is I have to purchase my supplies from overseas...

if we start making our own products, the US would fall apart.

the economy isn't strong enough for that.....do you know how many people rely on "wall-mart and co" TO SURVIVE.......next time you get there, check how many products are TRULY made in the US and you will therefore understand..... mostly, if products are made in the US , they are more expensive due to cost of labour etc.....so we would ALL have to pay much more for everyday items and therefore spend much money at the end of EVERY months, without getting a bigger salary.....its impossible!!!!

Why would the be good? No country, regardless of how big or how small can survive alone. Look at North Korea or ex-Soviet Union. They wanted to play the game called "the only one" - isolated and "self-reliant". And their population was suffering and starving. We don't want the same game in USA.

The United States produces MILLIONS of products every day, month and year. The copy of Microsoft Windows on your computer? Microsoft in Seattle. The movie you saw last week, Hollywood. The music you listen to on your CD, USA. The computers that most of the world uses, IBM.

Are you talking about producing T-Shirts and Jeans?
No thank you. Let the impovershed people in China do that for 50 cents an hour. Its a good wage for them, and makes our cost of living LOWER.

It provides jobs for importers, shippers, warehouse workers, and retailers.

OK They are called 7..or True Religion or Citizens, and cost about $200 a pair. My son owns a store that sells them. How many would you like?

Foreign cars are now made in the USA. BMW, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, all have plants and factories in the US. Plus they provide hundreds of thousands of jobs for americans at dealers, service shops, parts, shipping, finance, insurance..

I'm quite happy with the US being on the high-end of production, thank you.
