Selling based job. please help???

i just took a job that deals with selling face to face to someone. does anyone have any practices that boosts confidence? or selling tips? what are key things to look for? what are key things to say?

Take the time to get to know the product or service you'll be peddling. People want a knowledgeable salesperson, and don't trust someone as much if that person doesn't care about the product/service. Also, your company might have a script for you to work from initially... you could practice that in front of the mirror, or with a friend who can ask you questions so you can ad lib a little. Good luck!

Just be very polite, smile a lot, be as respectful and helpful as possible. But also don't be too pushy. There is nothing worse than a salesman that is TOO pushy, you can tell they are all over you just to try and make a sale.

Know your product, do a little research. The people you sell to are bound to have questions about it, and they are depending on you to help them out. If you are constantly saying "I don't know" it could be the difference between making a sale or not.

watch the shop at home TV shows they sell tons of the weirdest crap , cause they keep talking about the product and the features and benefits of the products
