I would like to start my own business. I have a business name in my mind. but do I need to purchase a name from a business domin thing on the internet. Or can I go with my own name I have in mind. please help.

The most important thing is to register your business with the state(s) that you plan on doing business with. If you start a company with a certain name, and another company already exists with that name you could face a severe lawsuit.

With any business name you should start with the Secretary of State's office in your state. The usually keep the database of registered business names. If yours is available there is normally a fee of $100-$200 to register the name with the state to reserve it.

before you buy a domain name you will want to go to the county courthouse and register a DBA (doing business as) name so you can get a bank account in your business name and go from there... at least at first
