On average, how many housekeepers would you need for a hotel??

We have 69 rooms total:

10 penthouses and 59 suites.

Suite cleaning includes cleaning of the living room, kitchen, bedroom and restroom.
Penthouses are twice as large.

They must also clean office, breakfast area and hallways.

We were wondering how many housekeepers we would need to have to clean all rooms as quickly as possible and of course be able to give them a couple of days off and not have them working every single day.

We currently have 3 housekeepers.. some days they all work.. some days only two..

and we usually have 20-35 rooms occupied 12 of which are long-term guests

all of a sudden we're up to 52 rooms and wont go below 45.. this is good..

but our 2 housekeepers a day aren't being enough..

With that many rooms and suites,you might need about 6- 9 house keepers that you can rotate on a schedule so that they can keep up with maintenance of your hotel every day of the week.

I would have at least 4 housekeepers working together per floor. Two on one side of the hall and two on the other.
Suite have two housekeepers per suite. Are all suites used at all times?
Office, breakfast area and halls, guest greeter can do the breakfast area, janitor can do the office and halls. Penthouse have all pitch in.

If you assume that one person can clean a room in six minutes, then one housekeeper working 8 hours a day could do the job. However, you need to have several housekeepers on call, so as to have one for 7 day a week coverage. And it also depends on your occupancy rate and your turnover rate. If rooms are empty, or the residents stay for long periods, then less work is required.
