When you have a small business website, how do you handle shipping charges?

how do you not lose money, but not over charge?? what do you do?

Buy a scale.

I had an online DVD business for about two years. Most DVDs weigh about the same and I just researched through the US Post Office and Fed Ex how much it would cost to ship them. If you have multiple products, you may have to weigh each one individually, then check with the shippers to find the cost. I always charged actual cost of the shipping to the customer. I was in the DVD business, not the shipping business so I didn't play the "plus shipping and handling game".
