Cigarette Breaks at work...?

Me and my manager have a bet going on wheter or not it is illegal to not give an employee a cigarette break... could you please give me a website where it states the law... please n thank you i have money on thisss haha

Depends on the state. A few states (I believe California is one) mandate breaks, not for smoking, but just for break.

The federal government and most states have no mandatory break laws at all.

In Michigan I do not have to let my employees take ANY breaks, including lunch, if I don't choose to.

Lucky for my employees, I am a human being and they get as many breaks as they need as long as the job gets done.

I'm not sure about the website but I've always understood that employees were allowed to take 2 15-minute breaks during an 8 hour shift. breaks could be used to do anything
