I just started a job where I work 11p to 7a and I was wondering does any one have some advice? Its a Gas place |
I work at a gastation its my first job with a grave yard shift. I need advice First of all, please talk to your supervisor about safety issues. Working in an open public store at night can be a bit dangerous. If you're wondering how to survive working night shift, I've worked 7pm to 7 am for 18 years. Be very selfish with your sleep time! It will take 4 to 6 months for your body to adjust to night shift. Make sure your family and friends know that you do not want to be disturbed while you sleep (no exceptions unless it's an emergency!). Make sure you get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Turn off your phone, have your room temperature slightly cool, darken your bedroom (a sleep mask helps), be sure you still eat healthy meals (fast food is a big temptation - don't do it), drink lots of water. You will eventually get into a routine that works for you. Good luck. |
