How do i turn my invention into a product for free?

How do i turn my invention into a product for free?

invent an invention that makes inventions for free. and you'll be there.

kind of impossible, try and get a loan from a bank, or get family to help out financially.

patent (international)

do you mean you want to give it away?
or you want to be given the complete r&D budget for no effort on your behalf?

What you mean a Prototype?

If you find out let me know

You can't. That's why there are venture capitalists and stuff.

if you have an invention then it must of cost you some thing so on the same lines as that there isnt away.

Find an 'angel' - someone who you can persuade to part with money. Could be family, friends but if it's a big idea try Investment In Industry (III) or a similar organisation.

OK - fundamental law of life. No physical man-made thing is actually "free."

What we call "free" normally translates as "someone else pays."

Ideas can be free, though... in the sense of "anyone can use them without paying a fee".

There are two ways to understand your question:

- How do you make your invention free for anyone

- How do you get someone else to create your invention for you, but keep ownership yourself

If you mean the first, then simply post a good description of your invention on the Internet. You won't then (in the UK at least) be able to patent it, but because you've disclosed it, nor will anyone else. Hence, it will become possible for anyone who wants to to build a version.

If you mean the second, then there are various companies who MIGHT "licence" the idea from you. They would insist that you HADN'T disclosed it, and would do things like apply for patents in THEIR name (but crediting you as the inventor.) In exchange for this, you'd get some combination of up-front fee, and/or percentage of any money they made from it for a given number of years.

If you want to go down the second route, it may be worth applying for a patent on the basis of an "incomplete application" yourself. This costs nothing beyond the price of a stamp. You need to fill in form 1/77 from the patent office, add a detailed description of your invention, but NOT include the "claims" section, and post back to the patent office. There is no fee for doing this. However, to complete the application, you need to fill in the "claims" section, and send it off, with a fee (a few hundred quid from memory) within ONE YEAR of the initial filing.

This is different from the US system, where the inventor can PUBLICLY disclose the invention, provided they put in an application within one year of the initial disclosure. In the UK (and the rest of Europe), public disclosure stops your ability to patent, hence the importance of getting the initial filing in.

Hello,

(ANS) Thats the 64 Million dollar question!!! In my opinion its NOT possible. Turning an idea or concept or invention (real or in theory) into a salable product is a very long complicated process. And yes! it costs real money to productize something there is no getting away from that fact.

**However, you have to spend money to make money!!

**The flow of energy including money is circular, what you spend out or give away comes back to you, often it comes back increased.

For example:- Have you been the the patient office to check nobody else has already invented a product along exactly the same lines as you?

**Are you sure your idea is unique?

**If your idea is 100% unique you should patient the product or service or process before someone else can?

**I found my local small business service extremely helpful in guiding & supporting my business start up.

Kind Regards Ivan

Be careful about venture capitalists and licensing agreements - get a lawyer to check out any agreements or you may lose control of your product.

If in the UK check www.ipo.gov.uk

As said the US system is different to most of the rest of the world, allowing such things as writing down an idea, doing nothing about it, and then claiming rights when someone else has the same idea and does all the work developing it.
