Have a small hostel. want inf; on how to organise my office work with a program on computer.?

I want if possible a free program as office tool on my computer that I can have rooms diplayed and I can put bookings in them and have most information on Guests, and grafs and bills and all.

There is a superb bit of freeware that will do everything you want and more. It is totally compatabile with Microsoft Office and others.

To my knowledge there is no FREE program that will do all of this, but you can use a couple of different programs which are as low cost as quickbooks and even Microsoft Works that would do some of these functions.

I spent over 25 years in the hotel industry. In a small operation, I would do the basics manually. You can visit American Hotel Register's web site and if you do not already have it, order a future reservations book or chart, some registration cards and whatever rack these cards fit. A simple cash register can perform most of your functions by charging for Room, Tax and Incidentals.

If you just must have a computerized system, look at a web based system like Innroad.

There is no equipment or software to purchase and all your records are on-line. The downside is that they have all your records and while you probably have some ways to run reports on all of your activity, if they go out of business or you can't pay them, say good-bye to your system. Hopefully you aren't on dial-up.

Again, if I were you, I would do it manually at your front desk and use Excel and Quicken for accounting and even reservations.
