Can I sell Sand from a Public Beach? |
I live in Miami Beach and wanted to start selling sand to tourist,etc. But I'll be getting my sand from a local public beach? Can I do that? Do i need some permit etc? That's hilarious. Nope you can't and good luck getting a permit to do it. Public property does not mean that no-one owns it and the "it's mine, I stuck a flag in it" thing no longer works either. If you are really serious about it, you might be able to get a permit to do it, but I mean really serious, not just looking to sell a couple of bags! ummm... why would any1 want to buy sand... couldn't they just get it off the ground? Miami Beach struggles to keep what beach there is in tact. The city can barely keep up with sand eroding each day and after any large storm. I am sure like every other city along the cost there are hard laws protecting the sand and plants that grow as well. I don't believe you could remove much sand yourself, but the laws would prevent mass removal by everyone at the beach. Rather risky venture unless you desire room and board at the cities expense (jail). Not the greatest idea in the world. Why not look for nice shells and sell those instead? |
