How can I market my felt products (story boards, dolls, activity books, etc.) in my new area?

I recently moved to a new city and I am struggling to get my business going here. I am a consultant for a company that makes felt products and I do home parties as well as just sell straight up to customers. I am looking to book parties and sell felt to schools, daycares, preschools, etc. Anyone have any suggestions on how to approach these institutions specifically?

post cards specifically...postcards get read by 99% of recipients.

the trick to getting better than a 2% response is to have an insane offer...something worthwhile....and a postcard that looks professionally designed....people tend to make a split second decision about the overall value of a postcard by how cheezy, or professional it looks...cheezy gets tossed in the trash before the eyes get a chance to read the content.

Keep in mind that the value of each response equals the lifetime value of that customer....so its pretty important to do whatever you have to do to get them to contact you with this mailing.
