Will i be fired?

I work in a wine store. I am good at what i do and great at selling and everyone in the store knows this.

There are price stickers that need to go on the bottles. My boss likes to micromanage. I have been putting the stickers on my hand and then on the bottles because it is faster and I dont have to pick the bottles up to do it (i.e. less risk of dropping them).

Well yesternday he held a little demo saying HOW one is to hold the bottle and How one is to hold the sticker gun and HOW the sticker, gun and bottle should look at every stage of the game.

WOW.

So I told him he is micromaganing and sent him some articles via email about what micromanaging is and how to stop it. here is a quote:
3. You spend time telling people exactly what to do and how. Ask yourself: Is this kind of instruction really necessary? Is there a way to give less instruction and allow employees to find solutions to issues themselves?

so will i be fired?

you might be disciplined....i hope u don't get fired for telling the truth though.

Probably. Nobody likes a windbag.

I doubt it but he may make your life a little rougher at work. Next time try talking it'll seem less snotty.

Talk to your boss about this. He will probably understand. Or you can try asking another employee.

if you just lectured your boss...
kiss and wave bye-bye

Yes, it is very possible.

It depends on how much of an *** he is. My guess would be yes. Sorry to hear that.

no, what you did was sensable

he probably wot like it
he wont like being under-minded by an employee
yikes
good luck

you may, but that thought must have crossed your mind while sending your email. And if you sent your email which you did, you must not mind all that much

Depends on your boss's personality and temperament.

I agree that he was micromanaging and probably could have been told so. Not sure how I would have gone about it. I guess it would depend on the boss and the relationship I have with him or her.

maybe not but don't expect to be employee of the month
or acknowledged anytime soon. Afterall he is just a boss
and might think you are gunning for the position

probably....but thats just my opinion

It depends on how much he respects your opinion. Many bosses are OK with other people stepping in once in awhile when they see things like what your boss did. I suppose it all depends on your bosses' character.

Wouldn't surprise me...it's HIS store, so he gets to do things the way HE wants to do them. He's been in business a lot longer than you have been there. And regardless of whether you are good at what you do or not, piss the boss off for petty little things like this and you'll find yourself out looking for a new job and probably will get a bad reference from him for challenging him and, I must say, micromanaging him!

if he is a bad boss then yes because he doesn't like to be told wat to do
if he is a good boss he will thank you for your concern. and i think the reason he gave a long talk about it is because he doesn't like the way you are putiing the stickers on, and instead of addressing it to you privately he did it publicly so nobody would kno and in turn teach everyone something although it spends a lot of time

That was pretty stupid of you. You're at the bottom of the totem poll, learn your place. When your the boss you can lead how you wish.

A better way of handling the situation would of been to ask him how his method improves your performance at work. Then you would be able to work in your idea into the conversation as well.

I don't know if you'll get fired, but I'm sure he'll be looking for a reason from here on out. I would, it's sounds like you how an attitude problem. If your so much better then him, then why is he above you..... And forget about any request, favors, etc. from management.

You could be--it is his place and he can say how he wants things done--but privately go talk to him and explain why you do it the way you do and see what he says. but he has final say!

He's the boss, it's his job to do the managing. If I were him I'd probably tell you to mind your own business. It's not your job to tell him how to do his job. Just do what he tells you to do.

Can you tell me where is he/she (your boss) is from.
If you get fired, Give me he/she E-Mail Address.
But anyway you did the right thing & He/She would be appreciate of what you wrote.
I don't think you get fired. If you have a chance to talk with, let the boss knows that it was only a friendly advise.

i really dont care. yes hahahahah. no body cares.
