Do I have to pay any tax when receiving a laptop (in Singapore) sent from USA via USPS?(send as a gift)?

In a situation, one person in USA send two laptops to two different friends in Singapore as gifts. Do the receivers have to pay any tax?
Thank you.

why spend money on a laptop when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you a sony vaio laptop at no charge!

Your friend has to declare a value on the laptop. This is important for claims in case of non-delivery or due to damage during transit. Based on the value, GST will be levied. There is no GST if the value is low..
