Anyone know the working age in..?

washington?!
i thought it was 15 and a half, but
i'm not sure. soo yea.

alsooooo! do you know if we need
the minor's work permit, or is it the
business that needs to attain the
permit? i looked at two different
sites, but they didn't explain clearly.
soo. thanks! :D

Okay, here are the facts:

You can be employed in Washington starting at age 14, but your employer needs to have an endorsement from the state Licensing and Inspections Office. For businesses that employ kids frequently, they usually get a master endorsement for the business, so that they don't need to get one each time they hire someone under 18. If you work at a store or restaurant, for example, this has probably already been taken care of.

In addition, there is an authorization form that has to be filled out by the parent or school of the kid getting the job. If you are working during the school year, the school must sign. The form is available here: http://www.lni.wa.gov/forms/pdf/700002af...

The minimum wage for 16 and 17 year olds is the same as for adults. The minimum wage for anyone under 16, however, is 85 percent of the state minimum.

For a lot more information about working as a minor, see the Source below.

Good luck!!

Sorry, I don't know anything about insurance. Report It

i think your right BUT there are a bunch of restrictions.

It used to be 14.

I believe it's 14, unless that has changed. I know I worked at 14.5 in fast food (Dairy Queen), though my hours were really restricted at that time.
