Are air conditioners required in apartments? I live in Hollywood, Ca.?

In Vegas, owners have 24hours to fix ac units in hot weather. Dont know what laws are in socal for having an a/c. Anyone know the laws around here.

CA law does not require A/C in a residence. However, they are the norm and a landlord w/o them will have trouble finding renters, even in the low rent districts.

A/C is required in commercial real estate in CA. That is because the employement law requires you to send your employees home if 4 hours pass w/o A/C (power outage or whatever).

No landlord can deny you the use of a unit you purchase yourself. Home Depot usually has one available under 300.

yes it is the basic requirement

unfortunately not.
A/C is one of those key amenities you look for when choosing an apartment
