Is there any organization that helps with rent? |
I lost my job due to the housing situation and am really in a bind. I have been able to make it, but my bills are adding up. I pay one thing late and then another has to be paid late. I am stuck in a snow ball effect. Does any one know of an organization that helps with rent for just one month? I am not a moocher. I have never needed help for rent like I do now. And it is just this once. Please Help!!!! The reason why I am not working at McDonalds is that it pays less then my unemployment. I have 4 kids and a wife I was supporting on 1 paycheck. Besides this was so I can pay the rest of my rent this month, not so I can be attacked. I have never asked for help and I have been in search of work. But to take care of my family I need more then McDonalds. You can always call the Salvation Army, Good Will, or Red Cross for your area. There might also be a coucil of government. Here where I live it's called WACOG (Western Arizona Council of Government), they can help out with all kinds of bills, provided that they have the funding available. Any local charity should be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck. Catholic Charities. section 8? Contact your local social services office for suggestions. Some non-profit organizations provide this help through county funds. However, here's the catch, you have to be working! Why? Because this is just a band-aid to get you through the month, gives you a month to get yourself straight so you can continue on your own the next month. If your not working your just prolonging your situation. They may or may-not pay all your rent depending what your rent is. No late fees included. The Bank?! You have been looking for work since October. Why are you not at least working?????? There are jobs available - even it it's at McDonalds - until you get a regular job. |
