Does anyone have any insights to offer on the Westgate Planet Hollywood time share offer?

I just sat through a solid, but stock, timeshare, pitch for the new Planet Hollywood Tower by Westgate. Thinking about doing a deal and want to know if anyone has any info both pro or con.

Ok please listen carefully, DO NOT BUY A TIMESHARE!!

Especially from the developer. We owned a westgate timeshare in Vegas, we paid too much, couldn't sell it and ended up donating it (even that was a process)

You could buy the same timeshare they told you about for a couple of thousand dollars. Don't believe what they say, a timeshare DOES NOT have a resale value. Only buy it if you know you are going to use it every year, but DO NOT buy it as a real estate investment. Don't forget, you have your yearly assessments, which go up all the time. They could even hit you with a "special" assessment at anytime.

Ok, if you don't believe me go on ebay, people are trying to sell it for 1.00! That's right one dollar! and they still can't

i have bought into those 2 times..(not that company)
"first time shame on me..second time shame on them"

happened both times..just sounded 2 good to be true..so of course it wouldn't happen the 2nd time..but did..

the 2nd time i got a full refund..
what happened to me..was once i bought..and i travel off season..nothing available..all sold out..
2nd timeshare ...both times i tried to book..and i kept all my receipts...and notes...to get the full refund..2 times on the 2nd ownership when i wanted to go nothing was available but i went anyhow..and went to the units..and yea there was openings......
anyhow..i kept my notes and got a refund..and travelled on my own and found i did better booking on my own.

Timeshare can be good if you buy for the right reasons. By the way the right reasons are never a financial investment.

NEVER buy from the developer. You can get the same product for 90% less in the resale market.
