We are closing on our housse this week, how long will we be at the actual "closing table?"?

45 minutes to an hour, depending on how many questions you have...

Please bear in mind & make note, signing the papers is part of the closing process & not "closing" by means of you then get keys and are able to move in.

Closing is defined as the date funds are tranferred, the documents are recorded and the seller's funds are available to them.

I've seen a lot of posts here regarding buyers questioning why they can't move in when they have signed papers, thinking they've acheived "closing".

~ Congrats ~

An hour or less, you need to read all the forms and sign them so it depends how fast you read and how often you have done it before. Don't rush, read it until you understand it or don't sign.

Give yourself 1 - 2 hours.
There are lots and lots of things to sign.

If you worked with a real estate agent, he or she should explain most everything before the closing. The settlement statement and title commitment should be in the agent's possession before closing and he or she can explain the basics beforehand and that saves some time.
