How much does a Mortgage Broker earn in the US and UK on average p.a and how many settlements does that take?

Yeah, we make around 1 to 2 percent on a first mortgage transaction. A little more on a 2nd mortgage. But the business stinks right now and closings are very hard to come by. Hey, it's the season. We had a hay-day for 5 years, I guess we can give up a little.
