Can the current drug dealers sell their home to anyone right now? |
Our neighbors were just busted 2 weeks ago for cultivating over 230 marijuana plants. The couple who sold them the home (The previous homeowners) are now wanting to buy it back from them so they can use it as a rental. I thought that maybe there had to be audit of some type done by the IRA to see if the mortgage payments and other assets were paid for with drug money. Then I thought if drug money did pay for assets that those things would be taken by the gov't or at the very least the money would have to be paid back before they could sell anything. If they were busted on "cultivation" charges, the house was probably not seized by law enforcement. However, if they were busted on distribution charges, the house may have been or soon will be seized by law enforcement. They can unless the house was deemed "evidence". But I doubt it was. There are no laws preventing someone who has been arrested from selling their property. Unless the house was seized, it is theirs to do with as they please. Yes, they cam sell it to whomever they wish. |
