What can i do about nosey neighbors? |
i live in a trailer park so my neighbors are very close to me. I noticed them trying to look in my windows. They aleays seem to watch what i do and who i bring home with me. Whaqt can I do ther then becoming a recluse or moving which isn't an option right now? Give em' a show they will never forget! Start staring back. Seriously. If you see them looking IN, you go to your window and start looking OUT. Two can play that game. Then start closing your curtains. Yeah they do have a right to be curious but if they always stare at you or are peeking into your house that is an invasion of privacy. Nothing, as long as they aren't trespassing on your property. They have a right to look where they want to look. Best you can do is put up curtains and keep them closed on their side. Get better covers for your windows and tell them to keep off your lot. They probably don't have much else to do. Who cares as long as they aren't looking inside. Neighbors always notice what and who you do. Some are just more obvious than others. Just get used to it. And the up side is that if someone ever tries to break in, they will notice and call the police. And that's what I would tell them. . .since you pay such good attention to my place, if you ever see anyone trying to break in, please call the police. And I'd say it with a smile when I noticed them trying to peek in. . . Put curtains (or, if you cannot afford curtains, then either window shades, bath towels, or even paper) in your windows. There are Peeping Tom laws just about everywhere, so I agree with one of the previous answers - take their picture. Send them a registered letter stating that if they do not stop peeking in your windows, you will turn over the picture and the receipt for the letter to the local police and make sure that they're arrested for peeking in on you when you've been changing. |
