My boyfriend and I signed a 6 month tenancy agreement...?

on the 19th of October. We pay 拢500 on the 19th of every month, and it included council tax, water and gas central heating.

The landlord controls the heating:

7am - 10am mornings and 5pm - 10pm evenings in the week.

Weekends: 8am - 10am and 5pm - 10pm

Personally I do not think these are suitable as alot of the time the flat is cold.

We have to buy electric tokens from them too, at 拢10 time. We were told by them that we cant get them from anyone else, but we have found out that we can.

Anyway we have contacted the landlord as we are now down to 拢.150 in emergency electric. She said that she would be here at 10am and its now 12pm and there is still no sign. We have tried caling both landlords on their mobiles but to no avail.

Sorry this is so long but I'm coming to the end of my patience.

They should uphold their side of the agreement - ring them and tell them that this situation is not satisfactory. You should have thought about this situation, though, before agreeing to take on the tenancy - being controlled by the landlord in this way sounds rather strange to me. Perhaps after your six months are up you could look for something else where you are responsible for the bills yourself. That way, if you want the heating up you can do so, as long as you are willing to settle the bill.

If the 拢500 includes heating then you shouldn't be paying any 拢10 s for vouchers! If the heating is a meter then they have no right to interfere with it, it should be under your control. You would need to look over the contract you signed with them and perhaps take it to a solicitors to talk through it with them. I don't think this is right!

Talk to your citizen advice bureau.

If you rented the place through a letting agency, talk to them, and explain that you taking legal advice.

Make sure that you have given your written notice that you won't be renewing, and find a decent landlord.

I agree with the 1st 2 answers, get some advice, it sounds dodgy to me, you can buy electric tokens in the post office or pay where you see a PAY POINT sign, Get Advice , Keep phoning the landlord till they come,

Hello.Your landlord is operating an unfair tenancy agreement.Irrespective of what you have signed for in the tenancy agreement, you still have basic legal rights which supercede the agreement. I urge you to contact CAB on Monday or look through the CAB website pages regarding "Assured Shorthold Tenancies" which yours is.

Your landlords are acting both illegally and irresponsibly. You do not have to put up with despicable behaviour either from the landlords nor their associates.
