Selling my Home Problem Neighboring eyesore Blighted property?

I selling my home in New Jersey and My believe that why is taking so long to sell my house I had about 20 visits for my house. But the problem is that my neighbor house is blightened property. He died and no one was taking care of it. The owner family tore the exterior features up to use it for their own need. The rest of my street looks fine by neigbor next door to me rebuild his house and look nice which is a plus. The blightened property has been like this for 4 years we complain to the township but they did'nt do nothin to demolish it. It has leans over the the property. Standing water, abestos was found in the garage, windows broken, interior gutted, flood basement was leaking oil one time, grass wasn't cut. All of the neigbors on our street complain to the township but nothin is done to solve this problem. I don't know what else to do but are property values are affected and this is by waterfront property not for inner city ghetto. What should I do.

get an attorney and threaten to sue township and current owners if the home is leaning toward your home its only a matter of time until it falls on yours

Are you talking about liens (debts) or leans (falling over)?

I read that article. They only have the authority to do anything if the property taxes are up to date. They are really talking about helping people (seniors I would guess) who are having trouble maintaining the appearance of their property, they are not talking about abandoned property.

I would look up to see who owns it and any banks that have mortgages against it. I would complain to them directly. The city will take forever to get around to this.

In the very least the house needs to be boarded up. If you paint the boards to match the house it is not that noticable.

Since I can't see it I am just guessing. But if it is really bad you might try crying to your fire department on how fearful you are of it being a fire hazard and endangering you and your property. The fire department has more power here then your city, they may be the ones to help you.

my mother had same problem bought it on private tax sale for 50 plus 183 fee sold lumber off it and made a few dollars had other leins settled talked to lenders first though they all dropped the leins in pa
