How do I get a copy of the front of the Mtg or Deed for homewoners without driving to every county? The title company can fax them to you. There is no reason to drive there. some counties have website that you can look up a copy of the recorded deed. google the county and try the assessor's web page. In some counties this information can be obtained on line. If this is not true in your county, go the county court house and get it from the register of deeds or whatever office it is that records the deeds and land contracts and mortgages. Usually one of the employees is available to help you. I once looked up a property. The title holder had sold it on a land contract to a party who sold it on a land contract, etc. There were five land contracts on top of each other. |
