Is LA pet-friendly?

A few months ago, I got robbed of all my stuff - my computer, my big screen tv (which I'm still paying for), my video camera, and pretty much anything else. I felt down and wanted something cool to help with my blues. I went out and bought a small toy fox terrier dog. I wasn't thinking clearly since I have been planning on moving to LA in August for over five years now. I am 20 years old and will be 21 when I move. Please, this isn't a question about 'why" and "how". I don't want responses like "don't move to LA". But I was looking around and was actually pretty suprised. I found quite a few apartments that allow small dogs (25 pounds and less) for a budget in my price range (1250 a month for 1 bd apartment). From the pictures online, they look decent enough and don't seem to be in bad neighborhoods (I've done some research). I'm talking about the Valley. Are these places just crapholes or is LA much more pet-friendlier than I thought?

Oh, plus how much does beer cost down there? I like to drink, generally Bud Light, but if I can't afford it, I guess I could deal with Nat or Keystone.

Sorry, I'm not really from the area but I travel every month to LA for the monthly bulldog meetup and everyone and everything there seems to pet friendly to me for the days we are there. LA is close to many pet friendly areas such as parks and beaches that have a special spot reserved just for pets. This is one of the reasons why I make the monthly trip there. I go to the meetups for a few hours and end up driving to a nearby park or beach to spend the rest of the day with my pet and have a picnic. There are many websites that allow you search through the LA area and show you the kinds of things you and your pet can do for fun. I've found that researching these places before I go to LA makes it worthwhile so I can know beforehand where I can or cannot take my dog. Hope it helps!

As for the beer, it will probably be more expensive there since it is LA afterall, but probably just less than a few bucks more for a pack or a few cents more for a 40 oz.

They hate ALL animals in LA...Not just the ugly ones, they even hate dolphins and unicorns. And all beer is $200.00 a case.
