I am trying to purchase a home & I was told that there are companies that will assist you with down payment? |
I am purchasing it in the Atlanta, GA area. I was told about AmeriDream but you have to use their lenders. I already have a lender, I just need a little more information What you are talking about is a program that in conjunction with an FHA mortgage you "finance" your downpayment. What is done is that in your negotiated sales price, you ask the seller to make a donation to AmeriDream or some other company like it and then AmeriDream "gifts" you the money for the downpayment. Typically about 3%. I would speak to a mortgage brokerage. They can help a lot. |
