Co-signer for an apartment criteria? |
Okay... i'm going to be moving out when I'm 18 to Ontario (I lived there about 2 years ago, then we moved to Alberta- where I am now.) I have an estate account, money gets deposited into my bank account every month (enough for rent) and once I'm there I will be getting a job also. Now, I know I'll probably need a co-signer, but there isn't anyone in Ontario who can do it. My grandmother, who will be staying in Alberta is the only one who can/will co-sign. She might have poor credit(not horrible) but she does have a job. Will she be able to co-sign even if she lives in a different province? Appearences aren't everything You should not need a co-signer. You can note the existence of the estate account on a rental application; that will assure the management that there is a reasonable likelihood that the rent will get paid. Since you get money deposited every month into your checking account, you shouldnt need a co-signer since you can prove you have monthly steady income coming in. I would think the more important thing would be....how responsible do you appear, having this monthly check? |
