I was evicted approx. 5 years ago, not for non-payment of rent for another reason. Does that go on my TRW?

The neighbors couldn't stand my boyfriend at that time because he was loud and a heavy drinker etc. My rent was paid every month and I had lived there for approx. 5 years. I am currently looking for a place, spending money on credit apps., and I was curious as to whether or not those types of evictions were added to ones credit report.

It will be on there. The only information is the landlords name, the date, and that you were legally evicted. There are no details of the reasons. If you left without him having to get a court order it would NOT appear there. Being asked to leave is not the same thing as being evicted.

Since you are paying for credit checks you are entitled to receive a copy of your report from the company you required it. Take a look in the legal section and see if it is there.

Why don't you go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com and get your free copy of your report and look at it. Why would you be applying for credit when you have no idea what is in it?

PS, It's not called TRW anymore, you have really been out of it for a while. Have you not checked your credit in a decade? The credit reporting business of TRW was spun off in 1996, and is now called Experian.

Sound like your bf was.is a jerk.

It depends on whether the eviction went through the courts or if the landlord asked you to move and you did without a fight.

Yes they do. Pretty much anything involving money goes onto the credit report.

If you own a home or even rent that is on the credit report. It shows your late payments and counts against you in your ratings.

You should get your free credit check at least every year to monitor your reports. If you have the money you can be notified every time someone accesses or looks at your credit report. This allows you to keep a close eye on it.

Definitely check your credit report yearly. I learned that the hard way when I tried to buy a refrigerator, and applied for credit to get it 90 days same as cash. I was turned down, and when I got my credit report, found $68,000 worth of debt listed on my report that was not mine.

If they actually took you to court to evict you, and they won the case, then you will have a "Civil Judgement" on your credit report. This would definitely keep you from getting a place.
