Should I complain to my landlord?

I have two roommates and one of them has two cats. We live in a condo and the condo board prohibits more than one cat per apartment. That is not the big problem. My landlord did not know she had two cats when she moved in but he allowed it anyway. Not a big deal for me. Anyway, she has a cat that is obviously sick. The cat is 13 years old and throws up continuously. This only happens when that roommate is not in the apartment. Therefore, my other roommate and I have to clean up the mess. It has been happening more and more and it is starting to stain the carpet. The cat litter is all over the place and she honestly does not take care of these cats. Should I complain to the landlord? We have tried to talk to this roommate about this issue and she keeps denying that she needs to take these animals to the vet. She has done nothing about it. They have thrown up on my personal property and quite frankly, I cannot take this anymore. What should I do?

We have already told her to take it to the vet. She refuses. We have asked her to do this for almost 4 months now.

Tell your roomate to take the cat to the vet and take care of the animal. If she doesn't comply in a week, or give you notice of what she'll do, tell your landlord what's going on. Take her to the shelter, or better yet, a rescue, so she'll actually find a home that will take care of her.

Either she takes the Cat to the Vet, or you give her 30 days
notice to leave and charge her for the cleaning of the carpets
BEFORE she leaves. My guess you'll be taking her to
Court.

You and your other roommate need to tell her to lock her cats and their litter in her bedroom. If she doesn't cooperate, let her know that you and roommate 1 will be looking for another apartment. She'll realize how hard it is to find good roomies and start locking up her cats. Yuk, I hate cats.

Tell your roommate to take the cat to the Vet. If they are not able to do so then give her a 2 weeks notice to remove the cat. If the landlord already know of the cat, there isnt much they will do about the cat being sick.

It does not sound like this is something that the landlord has anything to do with. I would tell your roomate to take it to the vet, or you might call animal control. If you tell your landlord it could end up effecting your stay there, and that's not what you want.

This might sound gross.... but how about if you save some of what the cat is doing in a plastic bag to show your roomate if she does not believe you? 13yrs is getting up there for a cat, it might be time to put it down, or it could just be sick... someone needs to get it to the vet.

if you guys don't want to take care of the cat, find it another home or take it to the humane society. not taking it to the vet is just as abusive as beating the cat.
