I'm curious how much you paid for a pet deposit when you rented your apt or home. thanks.?

$200 when I rented my apartment in 2002. I got $100 back in 2006 when I moved out of that apartment.

ADD: That was for one cat, neutered, but not declawed (I don't believe in declawing cats.)

$300.00 initially
$100.00 refundable
$29.00 pet rent monthly

Expensive!

In San Francisco, I paid an additional $500 pet deposit, with an additional $50 per month "pet rent."

I know, it's practically robbery...

In the past, while living in Los Angeles, I've paid $200-500, depending on the property management. I've never paid "pet rent" prior to living in San Francisco. That being said, if your property management is unscrupulous, you'll likely get very little back. (I'm looking at you, Lido Equities!!!!)

$250 deposit for 2 small cats with added rent per month of $15 per cat.

as a landlord I charge $300 per pet as a deposit.

From that money I professionally clean the carpets after the tenant moves out if I feel the carpets are OK. for example there is no smell of urine prior to cleaning.

If the carpets come out OK the rest of the money gets refunded to the tenant.

If the carpets are damaged then the deposit is kept.

I do not charge any additional monthly rent for a pet.

200 for my cat

Never paid a deposit, but as a landlord I charge a $200 deposit for 1 or 2 cats. I don't allow dogs. If no damage is caused including to my carpets then the deposit is fully refunded.
