Why do they call portland OR PDX? PDX is the 3 letter code for baggage tags routed for the Portland Airport. Over the years, PDX has been used as a hip, informal name for Portland, especially in the alternative press. The more it was used, the more it became a sort-of mainstream term for naming things in Portland, or the city itself. PDX is the code for Portland, used by the airport. |
