Yes, there is a very good chance that you can receive state assistance.

You should look into the Healthy Beginnings program. But you should get in touch with your Cumberland County Assistance office. According to the Web page for Healthy Beginnings, this is how to get into the program:

* If you are pregnant, your doctor鈥檚 office or health clinic may be able to complete a form providing you with temporary eligibility and assist you in completing an application.
* You may apply online using COMPASS. You can also use COMPASS to apply for other benefits such as Food Stamps and Cash Assistance.
* You can also contact your local County Assistance Office for an application or you may download an application form to send to your Cumberland County Assistance Office. If you need help completing the application form and a friend or relative is unable to help you, trained County Assistance Office staff members can help you.

Click on this link to see more about the Healthy Beginnings program and to download an application (though I suggest you start with county assistance office and let them help you with the form).

I wish you and your baby very good luck.

COMPASS is a good program for expectant mothers, however the dept of public welfare goes by your income. too determine the amount of food stamps etc. that your eligible to recieve. and the amount of hours you work and so on.
