When my spouce goes to boot camp how am i supose to pay the bills all by myself?? Help?

They told us that when he is gone i will have to pay all the bills that are in my name thats crazy and that my spouce has no way of sending me money when he is gone B/C its a account that is his only, and even if he trys it may not make it! How do i do this we also have a 2 1/2 yr old...Help

The First or second day he is at boot camp, they will set up a direct deposit for his pay, make sure you give him all your info so he can put your name on the account. You may want to look into a power of attorney before he goes, this way you can pay everything you will need to pay when he is gone, Boot camp, Deployed, school whatever and you will be able to access all of his accounts..

Remember military pay day is on the 1st and the 15th (if it falls on a weekend it will be that friday) his first check will be very small due to him having to pay for all of his uniforms but after that he should recieve a normal pay check, I'm assuming E-1 pay which is roughly 1300 a month not including BAS and BAH which can be another 1000-1500 a month depending on where he gets stationed.

Contact the military. They have programs in place to help you with those kinds of things.

I dont see what the big deal is....why doesnt your spouse just get some new checks and sign 50 of them and leave the rest blank for you to fill in.

Since he will get direct deposit for his paycheck, the money will be in his account. YOu can get a number to call the bank and figure out what the balance is on the first and the fifteenth of each month

then keep a check register and send the checks in the mail to cover the bills.

This is not hard so dont make it harder than it is

You can set up his bank account for online banking. No checks to write and no signatures required. This way you both have access to the money. His paychecks should be direct deposited.

This is something that you and your spouse should be working out now.
