Can an under-16 (Me) get a debit card? |
I'm 14 and wouldn't mind having a debit card. I sense that I, an under-16, am not allowed to have one. Is this true , or does this only apply to a credit card, or... what? you need a custodial account to where you are the primary but your parent or someone above age is the custodial, you are allowd an ATM card wich only has DEBIT you can use it to access your savings and checking. You will not be able to use any credit unless your parents have a card and they put you down as an authorized user on their credit card. Which is great because you will build credit it will show on your credit but. wont be a good idea if your parents arent good in paying their card altho you will not be held responsible for the late payments its a hastle to take it off your credit If your parents open a checking account in your name and co-sign with you you might be able to get a debit card that way. debit card is OK.....but not credit card...... If you have a checking account and your bank offers debit cards... you can get one, no doubt. If they give you trouble close the account and reopen it with your parents on it (if you trust them). No bank will give a 14 year a debit card even if the parent is on the account. You can get a ATM card and most likely your parents name will be on it or if your parents allow, you can use their debit card. http://cards.hotusa.org - try this one. I personally use their cards. |

One thing that I find helps me a great deal is if I sit down before going to the store and try to make a menu of sorts. On this I will plan what I am going to serve for dinner for the week. If i... Ifyou dont want to commit the entire summer doing that why not get with a friend or two and create a sport... think back when we were in WW ll we bathed once a week and washed hair on sat but did take a zitz bath everyday. recycled everything. now we use thrift stores for clothes, I get great jeans for... I've just read some of your other questions. I think you are a timewaster. Go away and play somewhere else. ...i would call ahead and ask. that way you don't have to wonder either way. ...Post flyers or some notes around your neighborhood see if anyone needs a helper. You could also do a yard sell if you don't want anything. When I was 11 I wash cars for a neighbor to earn $. |
