Brak wants to know, "How are you saving money at the grocery store"?

Since grocery bills are taking a toll on our income just as much as gas prices are.

One thing that I find helps me a great deal is if I sit down before going to the store and try to make a menu of sorts.
On this I will plan what I am going to serve for dinner for the week.
If i do this, i can very quickly see what it is that I will need to purchase and make only those purchases.

In addition I try to review the grocery store's sale papers that are often found in the sunday edition of most newspapers.

I can see what is on sale and hopefully use that to guide me in the planning of the 'menu'.

I find that if I go to the store after I have eaten I make much fewer impluse purchases.

So for example, this week
Monday a roast
Tuesday Spagetti
Wednesday baked chicken
Thursday hamburger helper
Friday Tacos

After the list, it is easy to see what I need to make those meals happen. If after checking the papers I find which stores have the canned vegatables on sale and I will stock up on those so most of the time I only need the meat to make the meals listed.
i dont use coupons much since most of the time there is a generic equivalent that is cheaper.

There is a store here called ALDI's that has the best deal running on milk ($2.00 a gallon) so I try to incorporate that into my shopping plans as well.

A friend and go half on a sams club card and usually go there once a month for large quanities (and savings) on toliet paper and laundry detergent.

Most of the food there does not help me as my family is not large enough to require the industrial sized cans of mixed vegatables and things of the like so most often i pass on those but it might be worth it to look around to see if some of the things that you purchase could be found at a bigger discount if you buy them in bulk.

I buy the genaric products, compare prices and use coupons when I can.

dont 4get 2 use coupons n also buy products on deal

Economising...

Trying to be more creative with things we already have in the cupboards, cutting out non essentials like magazines and clothing, looking for special offers i.e. bogof's and 3 for 2's.

I have certainly noticed a difference at the checkout, but there is no way of avoiding paying those prices, so I guess it is just trying to shop smarter to save where you can.

Buying generic items and food items that will fill me up. Filling foods don't get eaten up as fast as others.
I buy items that are on sale for a very good deal.
At the entrance of the store they have the items that are on sale for a great price. If your favorite foods aren't on sale, don't buy em. Buy the food that comes in good quantities so you don't have to buy them again next week. Make sure you have a list of food items you will need so you don't end up returning to the grocery store later.
I hope this helps.

What I want to know is why you hate Hilary Clinton. She is all for people like you.

Use the weekly grocery sale ads to plan menus around what is on sale.

Make a list and only buy what is on the list -- impulse buys will triple your bill.

Don't buy convenience foods. Make from scratch cost less and taste better.

Limit soda and junk food.

i buy genaric products and use copones
