Ruined Life? |
I have spent years studying in medicine to become a doctor but I am just not up to it. I have tried and tried and i still cannot do it. What can I do now? I've been working in a stupid fast food joint to pay the bills and I just can't do it. What can I do now? I've wasted my entire life, all my friends have moved on or away, my family has passed away, and I have many loans. Why do some of you get the impression that I don't want to be a doctor? I have dreamt of this my entire life. I WANT to help people. I WANT to cure people. I WANT to watch the smiles of patients when they hear that they'll be alright. I've just read some of your other questions. I think you are a timewaster. one day, one night Are you qualified to nurse based on your studies? That's a pretty lucrative job. get a job like in a bank "Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life"...be grateful that you've realized all this and are capable of making a change...it isn't too late, just start doing what you love... Not up to what? you're not being specific at all, that could part of the problem, you have no determination or goals. You should get yourself up to it.. there are so many fields within being doctor that be rewarding... I would say you're lost, and should seek mental counseling to find out what to do with your life. Nursing would be fine, become a PA.. teach medicine. All i can say is that most of us aren't ever "up" to doing things, but we do than and find the reward in doing so. dude ur not ruined not even close think about all the people who are on the streets with nothing u still have a life, just pray about it i know it sounds cheesey but the lord will get u through, my brothers friend had the same problem and he got through it trust me, dont give up aand god bless What about teaching high school or undergrad? Or, if you absolutely do not want to practice, you can work in public interest-non-profit sector doing research, counseling, education. You'd probably get help with loan repayment if you worked non-profit. You can go to a 3rd world country and offer basic services. Anything is better than what you're doing with your education now. All is not lost. Get some help with your budget, talk to your creditors to see if you can reduce your monthly payments. Look for a better paying job, get two jobs if you have to. It's never too late to start over. Just don't give up. Wow! So you have a medical degree and now you don't want to be a doctor. Is it that you decided you don't like working with people? Maybe you could be a consultant or write for a journal. What about research? What about becoming a professor? try learning a new trade any think carpenter plumbing etc.if you have a job consider your self lucky. Your life is far from being wasted, take the advice from others here, and stop worrying about whats wrong, and make it right. Put your skills to work. Okay, you can't cut it being a doctor, your other options are endless. Nursing, Medical Technologist, Teaching, etc. Talk to counselors. Sometimes other people see you better than you can see yourself. Foreeeeeeex market |
