Do you think this sayingi is true ?

" If you cant sell it , raise the price "

YES I DO.
I had a shiny trash can once I tried to sell for $2 at a garage sale and couldn't sell it.
I was getting ready to throw it away, had taken the price tag off it.
I went up the street to look at the other garage sales and came back and it was gone. I asked my daughter what happened to it and she said "I sold it". She thought I was going to be upset with her so I asked her how much...
she said "it didn't have a price tag on it so I sold it for $5"
$5!
The price went up and someone bought it!

I see this on Ebay a lot too... something I am watching doesn't sell, they up the price and then it sells.
Don't really know WHY but it's true!!

no, not usually.

no

well that is what the "typical white person "would do LOL

no because raising the price isn't going to make selling it any easier

That goes against standard economic theory. However, if you have a mess of widgets and they are not selling. The perceived value would be increased w/ an increased price.

Maybe that will work for other people, but for me personally, that won't work.

YES ; Especially in Real Estate .

Well it would give a higher perception of wealth, however that perception would be slightly deceitful, but yes I can understand how that would work.

It' sure works in retail, put the sale sign up, raise the prices and ,Bingo, you will clear a table in a few minutes. Some even fight over the pieces being sold.
