I have borrowed money from a friend and signed a note?

I signed a note as asked and had it notarized and sent it back as asked by her. I have been making my required payments and then some each month. she calls my cell and work and isn't satisfied with the agreement we originally had and says if it is not ammended she will call my boss and tell him i owe her money and leaves messages stating she is going to call the sherriff and wants my personal information such as social security number and irs returns pay stubs etc. I feel bullied and wish i hadn't borrowed the money to fix my car. she offered to help and i am doing what she asked in the original agreement. HELP!!! I don't want to be harrassed anymore and don't want to lose my job. I dont want to give my personal info i feel it is none of her business. she has already called my part time job and made waves there by telling them I owe her money.

yes i have copy of the note and I have kept messages that are recorded on my voice mail and my voice mail states that whomever calls they are being recorded and my be used on air (I work at radio station) I don't want to change my cell number because of work and important contacts i don't answer when she calls anymore and she fills up my text messaging with threats of sheriff and my cell voice mail. I have thought about a lawyer sending her a letter and ending all contact except making my payments and I have receipts on that. Thank you!!!

It takes the agreement of both parties to modify a contract (note). If she does not want to live by the original agreement, too bad. She should have given you a copy of it.

She has no right to your Social security information, tax information or pay stubs.

She should not be calling your work. Tell your boss what is going on so your boss will not be blindsided if he or she gets a call.

The sherriff will not do anything, you have not committed a crime. When she threatens to call the sherriff, says "I will save you the trouble, I will call the sherriff".

You probably could sue her for harrassment. Check the laws on collections in your area.

if she also signed the agreement, she too is bound by it. Sounds to me like she needs money. Tell her she signed the same agreement and if she doesn't stop harassing you or causes you problems , or even worse to lose your job that you will sue her. Go to legal aide and find out exactly what your options are. Or take 'he'r to court, She is violating her side of the agreement
God Bless

do you have a copy of the note? I hope you have it. you can fight back as long as you have it. she can't by any chance threaten you to get the agreement amended. an agreement is legal by law if it's signed by both party WITHOUT any party being forced to signed it.
save her messages and explain to your boss how it goes that way if that girl did what she said, your boss will back you up.
get any proofs that you already did your obligations that listed in the agreement and evidences to point out how she wanted to changes the agreement AND threaten you to do so. so far she threatened with 2 things and that were a good evidences.
yes your personal info is none of her business.
if you can find a local free lawyer, go for them. you need to stand up for yourself and show her that it's not easy to stomp on you. plus legal support will help you to backfiring her.
Good luck, I'm wishing all the best for you.

I would try to get out of the relationship as soon as possible. If you can get similar terms at a credit union or bank, get a signature loan and pay her off. You are in the right, and don't need to pay her back any earlier, but it may be easier for you and your peace of mind if you can just get out of the contract.

But like everyone else has been saying, if you are following the note, you are probably ok. (now if the note has crazy terms or something like that, then she may have some rights to get it changed. Also, depending on your ages, if you are minors, then contracts are not usually binding).
