Are they making new $5 bills?

I got one from Wal-Mart the other day as part of my change. It has purple on it and a huge purple 5 on the right hand side on the bottom back. It looks fake! If I hold it up, there are three fives imprinted in the paper that go vertically down the bill. Is this fake?

You got one of the new $5.00 bills. They're now using multi-colored ink and changing some of the attributes (like the huge 5 on the bottom right corner of the back) to throw off counterfeiters.

I think it's a really new dollar or a pretty good fake, call the governmment, they'll know wat 2 do

I think I did see something about new bills in the US on the news. I'm in Canada though so I wouldn't know what they look like.

yes that is the new $5. I work for bank of america.

It's not fake, they are making new five dollar bills. I work for a retailer, and they come straight from the bank like that.

Its really, it just looks funky cause your so use to the old ones. And a heads up. Vending machines dont take the new 5. I found that out the hard way.

That's the new $5 bill that was just recently released from the U.S. Treasury. While it does look very fake, it is in fact an actual bill and can be used to make purchases.
