Generally how much does a collect call cost per minute?

An old friend called me from jail, he got arrested for stupid things. I felt bad that hes in jail during the holiday time so i stayed on the phone and chatted for a little while. (about a 1/2 hour)

I'm just wondering how much this is going to cost on my next phone bill. I've never had anybody call me collect before and I'm kind of nervous.

I live in connecticut (if that info is necessary).

Would it cost more than 5 dollars per minute?

It depends on the time of day and how far away the prison was from you. You might be able to check your phone company's web site for rates. You can probably call their customer service during regular business hours and they could check the records and give your the actual cost.

It depends on where he called from. If he is in a different state it will cost more than if he is in your state. The time of day also effects the fee.
