Is there a way to stop a phone contact?please im serious thanks?

my son,fill up a contract phone in the internet for 18 months without reading details.given my details of coures for direct debit.3months ago.and id like to stop the contract.is there a way?

Had you informed them at the beginning that your son had taken out a fraudulent contract, you would have been able to cancel the contract, but as you have had the contract and pais the bills for three months, it is highly unlikely that they will terminate the contract. your stuck with it.

just tell them your underage son signed the contract and they will drop you like a hot brick...

if its your name on the signature?

is your son of a certain age? if he's a minor you can say he is under age to agree..

make sure it's NOT a breach of contract ,

speak to consumer direct or CAB

if YOU signed for it, your responsible and yep you should have read the small print.

I suppose the real question is why do you want out of the contract? If the service provider is not living up to their end of the contract then it is possible that you can legally break the contract. If they are doing everything they are supposed to on their end and you just want out, then you should be able to pay a cancellation fee to do so. Since it would be you breaking the contract for no good reason, it is only fair to pay this fee. To find how much the fee is refer to your contract or call the phone company.

On another note I recently learned that if you move out of the country, and the phone company can no longer provide service for you (got this from Sprint), then they legally have to void the contract.

Did you agree to your son giving details? If not then he may have acted fraudulently.

If you did agre, were the company aware of this? If not then the contract may be void(?voidable) for misrepresentation.

Call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 they will advise you or refer you to Trading Standards or CAB if necessary

well, your problem seems to be bit complicated, i guess that your son surely took the bait laid by the phone company, Iam unable to answer your question properly as the information provided is very limited,because the solution to the problem depends on various factors such as 1. where is the internet company located (country) the head office/corporate office.
2. what are the terms laid by the company in the event if you decide to terminate the contract permaturely.
