Does anyone know where I can post an ad for child care that I am offering in my home?

We are in Kannapolis, NC. I have very reasonable rates, but the local paper doesn't list child care. Hmmm....

Thanks and God Bless!

www.sittercity.com is a pretty good site.

What about bulletin boards around your local neighborhood? Job banks usually have bulletin boards to that you can advertise what you want.

University bulletin board, grocery stores, hotels often use outside child care for guests.

Even though your local paper doesn't list child care..which is weird by the way don't you think?...I'm assuming that they just don't have a regular place in the classifieds for it? Even if they don't, you should still have a right to pay for a small space elsewhere in that newspaper unless they just have some strange reason that they don't allow it. It might cost you a little bit more than a regular classified ad does but for this service I think this would be the best place to start..sounds like you thought the same since you mentioned it. Just call them up and ask for the heck of it. Other than that, I would print out some flyers and post them on bulletin boards at local grocery stores, ask some businesses if you can put one in their window where it can be seen as people come in or go out. Some will let you. I would even try to think of lost of places in your area where you know that alot of women work(we know that most of the time it is the woman that takes care of finding a sitter)..and ask the companies if they will allow you to put up some flyers for the employees to see. You'd be surprised how word of mouth can be the best form of advertising so tell everyone you come into contact with. And depending on how many flyers you wish to put out, you could even take several to a few stores in the area and ask the checkers if they would mind putting the flyers in each customers bag as they come through the check-out line. One other option would be to go to a parking lot that has lots of cars and put some flyers on the windows..I'm sure you have gotten flyers on your vehicle before.(alot of young teens would love to make ten or twenty bucks to go around a few parking lots and do this for you)) These are just a few ideas off the top of my head, and it sounds like you have gotten some good sites that you could use from some of the other answerers. Good luck to you. Oh yeah, you could even call your local radio station and ask them to announce it..I live in a small town and hear about these kinds of ads all the time on the radio. Good luck to you and I wish you much success with your business!

p.s. have you seen the flyers that have the little tabs cut at the bottom (usaully hanging on a bulletin board at the entrance or exits) where people can tear a tab of paper off that has your name and number on each one? I think that's a great idea because they don't have to worry about finding a pen and paper to write the info down..hope this gives you some good ideas.
