My Employer Shortaged me!?

I work at a Bp In Kentucky. We USED to have a sign that states that we will be shortaged if any thing comes up missing Examples: If we take a bad check and it was on our bad check list, Drive Off's, Our Register Shortages AND The Lottery Shortages. We have to pay for..Oh yea and cigarette shortages. I have not signed anything that states I agree to have these shortages taken out. IS THIS LEGAL? ANy of it! I had about 28 dollars taken out of my paycheck due to shortages. So did the people that worked on my shift. Just wandering if They can short us or not...

Check with one of the colleges or universities there. Go with someone if you feel intimidated. Though there should be nothing to really be intimidated by. Just be brave, that's all.

The universities have students and professors who know about this sort of thing and may have law students that can assist "pro bono" and may find yours interesting that they can use for a graduate thesis, see? That would be a win-win for you both!!!

Find out about Fair Labor Practices. Also check with a librarian. And then there is the U.S. Deparment of Labor; also the local compliment there in your city and county in Kentucky. Since Kentucky is a commonwealth, there may be some peculiar laws on this.
