I only make $9.35 working at a Ralph Lauren store. Should I ask for a raise?

I have worked there for 4 months.

Weigh this against what comparable stores to Ralph Lauren pay: -- check the salary tables on the Internet for your occupation. See if $9.35 hourly is in the range for the same title and function of work in other comparable stores to that of Ralph Lauren.

Once you have established this first, you then have something to justify your wants. Otherwise, bide your time and more important, your 'commitment' to the work you now do.

One tip: 'commitment' is a key word here -- not time; therefore, do the things that command a raise or promotion, something "above and beyond the call of duty." But bear in mind, you may well put yourself into still another category that requires greater responsibility, in which case, you are made again to wonder if the salary they pay you on that 'new' position is comparable to the same position in other stores...

This can have a looping affect.

This takes us into the concept of Return on Investment (ROI), which asks -- 'For the resources, energy, and skills I invested, will my return equal or exceed the amount I invested in the first place?'

Also bear this -- some people are more concerned about the interest their jobs hold, not so much the income they earn.

I would wait until at least six months unless, I was told that after a certain time on the job, I would be reviewed for a raise.
