I am looking for a good temp job as an administrative assistant or something similar. I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and would like to work the winter/spring months. I see opening on some sites but they seem to want previous administrative experience. I have customer service and sales experience but have heard nothing from places like officeteam. I have filled out their online application. Should I go in person and talk with someone? Does anyone have any advice for me? I really don't care what kind of work it is as long as it is office work. Thank you in advance. I have never been tested, but I believe I can type around 50-60 wpm. I live around the Akron/Canton area. I dont' know what part of Ohio you live in but you just need to get registered with a few good agencies. I know Snell and OfficeTeam are countrywide. Do a search for Ohio temporary employment agencies, then register with a few. You will generally get paid more than at a regular job but usu. no benefits (that can be sometimes negotiable). You will also make more having a degree. Do you know how to type? Even for management positions, they like people who can type with computer skills as well.
Good luck to you!
Andrea The Akron/Canton area job market is bad and the temp agencies are terrible in this area ~ ever heard the saying liar, liar pants on fire?
My advise is to move to the Columbus area ~ many more job opportunities there. |
