Going into computers at young age?

well im 13 1/2 and i have set my primary goal to be is to reach for the NBA and i train every single day of the week but i thought that if i never made it therer what else would i do? well i realize im really good at computering, i know how to speed up one, i know how to use all programs, keys, functions, ect. but i have been think to myself that if i was to become a computer tech would i need to know how to hack and memorize all the compand promt codes? i r reallly wanna be good at computers and my teacher has even recommended colleges to go to for it.
i have thought about buying books and all of the goodies and what not but do you guys think i would under stand it? i do know way more things about the personal computer than any other kid wouldn of my age thats just because i have had sooo much practice with it.
is it possible at my age to take some kind of test on the internet, something like college courses ( i heard somewhere you can do that) but please can you give me some in her

and i also do know about the regedit but one thing is i dont quite understand it i mean i open it up and i see numbers and letters and decimals so can some one also tell me about that to.
i know what the msconfig does and i completely understand that to. so please i really need some pointers here

If your really looking to study computers and going to want to do a Tech position i'd start studying A+ and Net + to start. I'd also look into starting the CCNA studying which is a good cisco starting certification that will get you a good eye opener for any computer job. For tech support though your really not going to need any in depth work with DOS just basic application work. I work as a computer tech at a Hospital and basic calls to clients are very basic issues like word processing and alot of printing issuses. Myself and alot of the people I work with are doing CCNA and MCSE training. Hope this helps.
