What would you do about an abusive manager? |
My manager is an abusive bully that tries to put fear into my teammates by playing on the fact that they don't know the extent of her power. I am in good with the site diretor and HR and a few other managers. She is not here much, but claims to work from home yet delegates her work out. She put me on 2 tens on day shift and 2 tens on night shift per week. She wouldn't give me time off to get my molars removed until I told the site director. She then said my face wasn't swollen enough. I had an alergic reaction and left early. She didn't excuse me and even accused me of forging a Dr's note. I had a funeral and she wanted proof of that. She set up a meeting with HR to do so. HR cancelled it and told her to move on and forget about it. She is on me a LOT about my stats when I am doing just as good as all the other team members. She has had complaints filed with HR and the site director. Why is she still here? Whats it going to take to get her fired? She's on thin ice right now. she can't fire me, cuz no one will sign off on it. I'm just tired of the BS and her being rude and a bully. HR or the Site Director. When I go to the site director he gets her into his office and screams at her and threatens to fire her and my manager thinks he will soon. Anything I can do to help push that over the edge? Be patient. HR needs time to put a case together to get rid of a manager. If she's not doing her job she'll be gone soon. Sit tight, bite your tongue, and don't do anything to jeopardize your position; or worse; don't do or say anything that will give HR doubts and give her another chance. Yes......send a letter to the cite director about her rude behavior........You have to create a paper trail.......Maybe others have written letters about her also. i would say that you need to find another job if you feel like HR isn't on your side. Also, if you have to go about HR I would say do that and go above them. Also, the key is documentation, if you can document these incidences that you have complained to HR and that there was no action taken then you should present your evidence to the person that is above them since they are favoring her action. Also , i would say that it sounds like she is doing her job it is a managers job to delegate and keey the other employees its called supervising...so many sure YOU are on top of your game..before you say she is not doing her job...but I would say you just have to go above them to make sure this get done and do documentation, and get documentation from your fellow peers. Don't show your reaction on your face. Behave her complaints have no reaction onyour work morale. Develop friendship with whom she has liking Document, document, document!!! |
