Can you be fired for...? |
My friend is worried about losing her job and I am not sure what to tell her to make her feel better or give her good advice... I didn't think she could be fired, but I wasn't sure because if you have off on the 1st, would you be able to begin vacation on the 2nd? Did that make sense? of course not. She has vacation available, so she can take it. Under FMLA (Family Medical leave Act), she cannot be fired. There is no law that says that you can't ask for time off to your boss. However, they don't have to give you the time off. My suggestion to you is if you used up all your personal days and vacation days, she would have to say shes sick in order to take off any more time. I think that the best thing to do is to maybe she can hire and nurse or somethign to take care of him. possibly, but yeah you know stuff happens so have her plead her case to her manager and so forth it should help. |
